Jason Chapdelaine is charged with murder and was ordered held without bail for allegedly killing a mother of two on Sunday, April 14, Hampden County authorities said.

A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf during his arraignment.

Eileen Monaghan, 48, of Chicopee, was found dead around 1:30 a.m. She had been stabbed, police said.

Chapdelaine was found nearby at the 200 block home on South Water Street home, bleeding from what police say were self-inflicted stab wounds.

The two had dated.

Monaghan was later identified as the personal assistant to Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi.
